Ready Player One, the movie adaptation of Ernest Cline’s book by the same title, will premiere this Wednesday, March 28 at O’Neil Cinemas in Brickyard Square in Epping, New Hampshire and at The Point in Littleton, Massachusetts.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film stars Tye Sheridan (Cyclops in X-Men Apocalypse), Letitia Wright (Shuri in Black Panther), and Olivia Cooke (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) in 2045 Columbus, Ohio. When the creator of a virtual reality world calls the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. (So it’s kind of like Willy Wonka, only without the candy!)
But while there is no candy, there are lots of pop culture Easter eggs in the film, with references to other movies (even other Spielberg movies!). Here’s a list of what you can expect in the movie.
EXCLUSIVE: Contrary to reports spreading now, Disney did let Steven Spielberg use #StarWars in #ReadyPlayerOne. Here, Spielberg explains to me how they snagged IP rights from all the studios and what STAR WARS Easter Eggs to look for in the new film, in theaters 3/29 pic.twitter.com/LslVQP1iCv

Chucky has a cameo in #ReadyPlayerOne, which will be the 1st time he’s appeared on the big screen since 2004.
Also 1st time he’s been in the same movie as Freddy.
Also 1st time Spielberg has directed him. pic.twitter.com/cmSz4LT4Ff
