What’s the Scariest ‘Conjuring’ Movie?

The Nun, starring Taissa Farmiga (TV’s American Horror Story), is now playing at O’Neil Cinemas in Littleton, MA at The Point and O’Neil Cinemas Epping, NH in Brickyard Square. The Rated R movie is being touted as one of the scariest entries into The Conjuring universe.

The Nun Movie

After a young nun takes her own life at a cloistered abbey in Romania, a priest (Demian Bechir) is sent by the Vatican to investigate. He and a novitiate (Farmiga), who’s about to take her final vows, uncover the order’s unholy secret. They not only risk their lives, but their faith and souls when they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in The Conjuring 2.

The Conjuring Universe Movies

Movie audiences were introduced to the movie versions of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga – Taissa’s older sister!) in 2013 when James Wan directed The Conjuring. Since then, there have been five films in the Conjuring universe, including The Nun.  Which one is the scariest?

Scariest Moments in Conjuring Movies

The Conjuring (2013)

There are a lot of scary moments in the first film, but the one everyone seems to remember is when Lily Taylor’s character heads down to the basement, which first creeped out audiences when the teaser trailer dropped.

Annabelle (2014)

The creepiest doll of all time wreaks havoc in this first spin-off film and makes Mia (Annabelle Wallis) be wary of all curtains and creaky doors.

The Conjuring 2 (2016)

In this sequel from the first film, audiences meet Valak for the first time, in one of the most frightening introductions ever when Lorraine’s daughter sees the demon nun standing at the end of the hall. No wonder Valak got her own spin-off with The Nun.

Annabelle: Creation (2017)

How did Annabelle become to be, well, Annabelle, demon doll? In this origin film, dollmaker Samuel Mullins (Anthony LaPaglia) and his wife Esther (Miranda Otto) got more than they bargained for when they prayed to see their daughter again. In this scene, “Bee” goes through a shocking transformation.
